"Katagiri found a giant frog waiting for him in his apartment."

This is how my second collaboration with Mr. Murakami Haruki started.

Daydream in Tokyo.

I went to Tokyo several times in my life, but I never had the chance to draw it.
I loved illustrating this novel so much for several reasons, but going back to Tokyo with my mind
was the biggest pleasure of them all.

Friends.

"Ranocchio salva Tokyo" is a brief journey on the verge between dreams and reality.
As for "The Strange Library", reading this novel filled me with so much inspiring images
I can't help but feel lucky to have had such an artistic opportunity.

The pace of this short story is unbelievable and tells so much with so little it's an illustrator's paradise to visualize.

It was a pleasure to meet Katagiri and Ranocchio, we will be friends forever.
